  • About Me:

I am a 1993 graduate of Florida State University where I earned a B.S. in Social Science and Political Science. I returned to my South Florida roots for law school and attended Nova Southeastern University, a private law school just outside of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I graduated in 1996 with honors in the top 5% of my class, earning special recognition for my legal writing skills.

At the time I started law school, I was a single mother to a four month old daughter. I am now married and my husband and I have two more children.

    My Background & Experience:

The day I graduated from law school, I moved from Florida to Las Vegas.  I was quickly hired as a judicial law clerk for Family Court Judge Gerald W. Hardcastle and worked as his clerk for the next 18 months.

Following my judicial clerkship, I worked as an associate at a couple of different medium-sized firms, always focusing on family law issues. I eventually opened my own family law practice. During my time in private practice, I was appointed by the District Court Judges to work as a Pro Tem (substitute) Hearing Master presiding over child abuse and neglect cases. Because of my position as a Hearing Master, I was ultimately recruited to the District Attorney’s Office to work as a senior attorney in their juvenile division.

I spent from 2004 to 2007 as a prosecutor of civil child abuse cases: I filed Petitions to remove children from abusive or neglectful homes, and filed Petitions to terminate the parental rights of abusive parents freeing their children for adoption by relatives or foster parents. Although it was extraordinarily satisfying work, it was also extraordinarily taxing and my family made it clear that they needed me as much as the abused and neglected children of Clark County. I happily returned to private practice.
